Non-Profit
Embrace Abilities is a Mississippi Gulf Coast 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving children, teens, and young adults ages 3 to 21 with different abilities, along with their families. We provide free, inclusive programs that create connection, support, and access through monthly enrichment experiences, family meetups, sibling support, caregiver education, emotional support, community outreach, and special events.
Our programs include the Embrace Abilities Enrichment Series, a year-long monthly program offering adaptive, hands-on activities like dance, music, sports, arts, and STEM, as well as sensory-friendly movie nights and other inclusive experiences. We also offer Parent Ambassador-Led Meetups, which create relaxed, park-based opportunities for families to connect through play and peer support; Sibshops, which give siblings of children with disabilities their own space for connection and support; Grounds for Support, which provides caregivers with educational sessions, resources, and guidance from professionals and community partners; and Embrace the Journey, which offers ongoing support for parents and caregivers navigating grief, stress, and the realities of caregiving.
In addition to our ongoing programs, we host special events that make Mississippi Gulf Coast traditions more accessible for children and families with different abilities. These include the Krewe of Wonder Mardi Gras Ball, Cruisin’ into Fall, a sensory-friendly Cruisin’ the Coast event, and a sensory-friendly area during the Peter Anderson Festival on the lawn of the Mary C.
