Food Pantry Coordinator

$17.50/hour | 32 hours per week
Back Bay Mission, a community ministry of the United Church of Christ, has served the Mississippi Gulf Coast for more than 103 years—strengthening neighborhoods, seeking justice, and transforming lives.
The Food Pantry Coordinator manages the daily operations of our client-choice food pantry, including receiving and organizing donations, maintaining inventory, coordinating volunteers, and distributing food to individuals and families facing poverty, food insecurity, or homelessness.
Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; degree in Social Work or Human Services preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing poverty or homelessness.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; compassion for those in need.
  • Collaborates closely with fellow Back Bay Mission staff in a spirit of respect, unity, and shared purpose to strengthen neighborhoods, seek justice, and transform lives.
  • Ability to network with community food resources and maintain inventory management.
  • Data entry and computer experience is important.
  • Knowledge of USDA food guidelines a plus.
